Dr. D. Sriram Kumar

Professor, Department of ECE

Dr. D. Sriram Kumar is currently a Professor in Department of ECE at NIT, Tiruchirappalli, India. He received his B.E degree (1991) in ECE from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, India and M.E (1993) with Distinction in Microwave and Optical Engineering from Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, India and Ph.D. (2009) in Microwave Integrated Circuits – Coplanar Waveguide- Discontinuities, Periodic structures – Analysis, Antenna Applications from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India. He has over 25 years of teaching experience and has published more than 150 research papers in International journals and conferences. His research interests include Microwave integrated circuits, Optical networks, Smart antennas, Carbon nanotube antennas, free space optics, Optical & Reconfigurable antennas, Flexible electronics, Photonics. Currently, he has sponsored projects worth more than 50 lakhs.

Dr. V. Anandakrishnan

Professor, Production Engineering

Dr. V. Anandakrishnan, Professor, Department of Production Engineering, NIT, Tiruchirappalli, is serving as an Engineering Teacher for the past 15 years. He is basically a mechanical engineer with M.E. and Ph.D. in Production Engineering. He is handling research/consultancy projects in the field of Metal Additive Manufacturing & Unconventional Manufacturing Processes for DRDO laboratories. He has delivered more than 100 guest lectures in various Engineering colleges in and around Tamil Nadu to share his knowledge & research experience to budding young engineers. He has also published more than 50 research articles in reputed International Journals and Books. His research areas are Materials Design, Powder Metallurgy, Metal Forming, Unconventional Manufacturing Processes, Tribology & CNC Machines.

Dr. S. Vinodh

Lab Coordinator

Dr. S. Vinodh is an Professor in Production Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He was a gold medallist in his undergraduate and post graduate studies. He was awarded National Doctoral Fellowship for pursuing research by AICTE, New Delhi. He was awarded Institution of Engineers Young Engineer Award for the year 2013 and Highly Commended Paper award by Emerald publishers, UK for the year 2016. He investigated three research projects funded by DST and CSIR. He has published over 100 papers in International Journals and International conference proceedings. His research interests include Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Sustainable Manufacturing, Rapid Manufacturing and Product Development.

Dr. S. Narayanan

Dr. S. Narayanan is an Assistant Professor of Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli with over 12 years of experience. He received best Paper for a presentation made in an International Conference held in Chennai. He handled research/consultancy project from CDAC. He has published few papers in International Journals and made few International Conference presentations. His areas of specialization are PID Tuning, decoupling control, data driven control and model based control.

Dr. V. Senthilkumar

Dr.V.Senthilkumar is Associate Professor of Department of Production Engineering at NIT, Tiruchirappalli with over 20 years of teaching and research experience. He has published more than 50 papers in International Journals and made 20 International conference presentations. He completed many research based projects and consultancy works getting funds from various agencies such as DST, CSIR and BHEL. His areas of specializations are manufacturing process modelling, process design, advanced materials processing and powder metallurgy.

Dr. D. Lenin Singaravelu

Lab Coordinator

Dr. D. Lenin Singaravelu did his Ph.D. in the field of Friction Materials from IIT Roorkee. He specialised in Friction Materials, Tribology, Powder Metallurgy, Processing of Polymers, Shape Memory Alloys, Composites Processing. He holds one Indian patent in friction material research field. He published more than 20 research articles in leading International Journals/Conferences. He reviewed many research articles from peer reviewed journals. He obtained DST-SERB International Travel Scheme (ITS) for attending 33rd SAE Brake Colloquium and Exhibition during October 4-7, 2015 at Charleston, South Carolina, USA. He successfully conducted DST – SERB sponsored Two Days National Workshop on “Brake Friction Materials: Past, Present and Future” during November 5-6, 2015 at NIT Trichy.

Dr. S. Prasanna Venkatesan

Dr. S. Prasanna Venkatesan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Production Engineering at NIT, Tiruchirappalli. He is having more than 17 years of Teaching experience and working at NIT-Trichy since 2006. His areas of research are manufacturing system simulation, supply chain risk management and e-waste management. He has published more than 40 research papers in Internationally refereed journals and conferences. Currently he is carrying out a SERB funded research project on e-waste Management. He is a reviewer in International journals like IJPR, Omega, Logistics and Transportation research, Computers and Industrial Engineering. He is the coordinator for the advanced manufacturing lab.

Dr. V. Satheeshkumar

Dr. V. Satheeshkumar is an Assistant Professor of Department of Production Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India. He received his Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He has published more than 15 research articles in International Journals, more than 25 papers in International and National conferences, a few book chapters, and an Indian patent. He is handling a research project funded by DST, India. His research areas of interest include material joining and forming, development of lightweight materials and gears, and cellular manufacturing. He is associated with Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory.

Dr. D. Ezhilarasi

Dr. D. Ezhilarasi is an Associate Professor in the Department of ICE, NIT Trichy having 15 years of teaching and research Experience. For the last 12 years she has been active in energy harvesting and Model reference based adaptive sliding mode control. Her research interests include acoustic & vibration energy harvesting, active vibration control, system identification, longitudinal train dynamic control, Greenhouse automation and wireless sensing & control through DST young scientist award. she has established Smart Structures Laboratory; currently consisting of herself, 5 PhD students, and a M.Tech Student. She has published 28 journal papers and 36 conference proceedings, given plenary lectures, graduated 3 Ph.D. students and supervised 25 MS/M.Tech Projects. She is a Member of IEEE, ISA, IEI, and ISSS.

Dr. Geetha Chakaravarthi

Dr. Geetha Chakaravarthi graduated in ECE from V.R.S College of Engineering & Technology in 2007. She did her Masters in Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in 2009 and obtained Ph.D. in Electromagnetic Biomedical Instrumentation from IITM in 2016. She initially worked as a lecturer during 2009-2010. She did her post-doctoral research in Structural Health Monitoring, IITM between 2016-2018. In 2018, she joined the Department of Instrumentation & Control Engineering, NIT Trichy, where she continues as an Assistant Professor. Her research interests include microwaves, antenna design, sensors, biomedical instrumentation, structural health monitoring, and electromagnetic non-destructive evaluation. She has currently over 2 filed patents, 3 technical publications and has presented papers at several national and International conferences.

Dr. S. Muthukumaran

Dr. S. Muthukumaran Completed Master of Engineering in Welding Engineering at REC, Tiruchirappalli. He joined Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi as a faculty and served for six years in the Department of Production Engineering and completed Ph.D. in Friction Stir Welding”. He joined NIT, Tiruchirappalli as Assistant Professor in 2008. Presently he is working as Associate Professor and the Head, IPR cell and teaching Welding, IPR and Automotive related subjects. He published 60 journal papers in refereed journals, have successfully guided six Ph.D. scholars and eighty postgraduate students in the field of welding. Three patents have been granted in his name and projects worth around 2 crores have been executed by him.

Dr. P. Sathiya

Dr. P. Sathiya, received his bachelor degree in 1994 on Mechanical Engineering from Government college of Engineering, Salem. He did his masters in 1997 on Welding Engineering from REC, Trichy, India, and his Ph.D. Degree in 2006 from REC, Trichy, India. He is currently working as a Professor & Head of Production Engineering Department, NIT, Trichy, India. He received Young Technology Award 2009, conferred by IWS, Mumbai chapter and Young Scientist Award from DST, New Delhi, India. He has published more than 130 papers in International and national reputed journals. He successfully completed five funded projects under different funding agencies like DST, CSIR, MHRD and DRDL.

Dr. K. Panneerselvam

Dr. K. Panneerselvam is an Associate Professor of Department of Production Engineering at NIT, Tiruchirappalli with over 15 years of experience. He received his B.E degree in Production Engineering from Department of Production Engineering, REC, Tiruchirappalli in 1998. He pursued M.E. in Manufacturing Technology, Department of Production Engineering, REC, Tiruchirappalli in 1998 and He completed his Ph.D. in the area of Joining thermoplastic composite materials in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He has guided 3 Ph.D. Scholars in the area of Polymer Matrix Composites and published several papers. His areas of specialization are Advance Manufacturing Process, Robotics, CNC machines, Composite Material processing, Mechatronics, Modelling and Optimization of Manufacturing process.

Dr. M. Duraiselvam

Dr. M. Duraiselvam is a Professor of Department of Production Engineering at the NIT, Tiruchirappalli with over 20 years of experience. He received many awards and honours that include German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Fellowship to do Ph.D at Technische Universität Clausthal, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany, 3rd Best Paper for a presentation made in an International Conference held in Miami, Florida, USA and Young Scientist from DST. He is handling research/consultancy projects worth more than 2 Crores from various funding sources such as DST, CSIR, BHEL, GTRE and DRDL. He has published 50 papers in International Journals and made 30 International Conference presentations. His areas of specialization are surface engineering, tribology, product life cycle management, digital manufacturing and computer numerical control systems.

Dr. P. Senthil

Dr. P. Senthil is an Associate Professor of Department of Production Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli with over 12 years of experience. He conducted various short-term courses / workshops on Modelling of Manufacturing Processes, Responsive and Sustainable Product Development Strategies, Additive Manufacturing and Rapid Product Development. He had projects from funding sources such as DST. He has published 13 papers in International Journals and made 6 International Conference presentations. His areas of specialization are rapid prototyping, tooling and manufacturing, metal cutting, modelling and optimisation of manufacturing processes and computer aided design.

Dr. J. Sarat Chandra Babu

Dr. J. Sarat Chandra Babu is Professor of Chemical Engineering Department at NIT, Tiruchirappalli. The primary research interests are in nano and bulk powder material processing and handling, Process modelling and design, and CFD. The intensive interaction with industry leads to Research/ Consultancy work from BARC/ DST/ DBT/ BHEL/ VOC Port etc. in addition to research publications of around 30 in reputed International journals. Current research is focused on developing advanced nano materials for applications related to energy and water. Test rigs are established to study viz., Pneumatic Conveying Characteristics of bulk powders and Multiphase Processes Modeling and Reactions. As part of the team, the current research is set to address the challenges/issues related to the materials used for rapid prototyping.

Dr. V. Sankaranarayanan

Dr. V. Sankaranarayanan received his Ph.D. in Systems and Control Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2006 and served as a post-doctoral researcher at Istanbul Technical University Istanbul, Turkey from 2006 to 2008. Currently he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He has published several research papers in the area of robotics and electric vehicles. His research interests include nonlinear control, control of underactuated systems, sliding mode control and constrained stabilization.

Dr. K. Pannirselvam

Dr. K. Pannirselvam is an Associate Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He obtained one patent and filed two in the area of mechanical systems engineering.

Dr. V. Arul Mozhi Selvan

Dr. V. Arul Mozhi Selvan is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT, Tiruchirappalli. He graduated M.Tech. Degree in Energy Engineering and Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Tiruchirappalli. He published 46 research articles in International Journals and Conferences. He attended 28 Short Term Training Programs (STTP) and organized 7 National Level Faculty Development Program (FDP). He is the Coordinator for “NITT Community Radio Station”. He received “Green Environment Award” for his self-financed contribution towards creation and maintenance of Green Environment at NIT-T. He filed 3 Patents on the theme “Waste Management” to Intellectual Property India, Government of India. Based on his technical contributions, his biography was included in Marquis Who’s Who in the World in the year 2011.

Dr. T.K. Radhakrishnan

Dr. T.K. Radhakrishnan is a faculty of Chemical Engineering Department, NIT, Tiruchirappalli since 1991. Prior to joining the institute, he was with Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad (a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Laboratory, Government of India) as Scientist B in the Simulation, Optimization and Control Group. His research interests span the fields of process modeling and simulation, model based control, control relevant process identification and process systems engineering. He is a receipt of Young Scientist Fellowship from Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology and Best Teacher Award from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He was the Coordinator of TEQIP-II, a World Bank funded project. He has handled projects supported by AICTE, MHRD and CDAC, Trivandrum. He has published over 90 journal publications and 80 conference presentations.

Dr.Nagajyothi Virivinti

Dr.Nagajyothi Virivinti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, NIT Tiruchirappalli. She has completed her Ph.D. in 2017 from Institute of technology, Hyderabad with 4 Journal Papers, 2 Book Chapters and 2 international conference presentations. She is one of the organizing member in two International conferences. Her areas of specialization are Optimization, Stochastic optimization, Fuzzy logic, Process control and Soft-computing techniques.

Dr. S. Moorthi

Dr. S. Moorthi is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, since 2007. He had done his Doctorate in Electronics Engineering at College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai and post-Doctoral research at KTH – Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He is the recipient of fellowship through EURINDIA programme, a European union and India initiative. He has published around 22 International journal papers, 29 International conference papers and filed Six Indian patents. His areas of interest include VLSI for Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Systems and Digital Controllers for power applications. He has around 14 years of teaching and research experience.

Dr. M. Venkata Kirthiga

Dr. M. Venkata Kirthiga is an Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli with about 15 years of experience. She has published 10 papers in International Journals and made 28 Conference presentations. She has guided one M.S. (By research) and five Ph.D. (ongoing) in her area of research. She has conducted 8 workshops and is a potential reviewer for reputed international journals like IEEE and IET. She has supervised more than 70 PG and UG projects. Her areas of specialization are power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy resource based distributed generation and development of controllers for the same.

Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao Nayak

Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao Nayak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has more than 11 years teaching experience. He had published more than 34 research publications and guided 22 M.Tech projects in the area of Power Electronics. He is also guiding 4 Ph.Ds, 2 MS students and 2 M.Tech projects at present and also conducted 6 short-term courses. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Solar Energy society of India (SESI). His area of interest is Electric Vehicle, Wireless Power Transfer Systems, Power Electronics Drive, Biologically Inspired Optimization Algorithm and Power Converter applications in PV and Wind Energy Systems.

Dr. R. L. Josephine

Dr. R. L. Josephine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT, Tiruchirappalli. She has over 8 years of experience in research. She received many awards and honours that include All India Rank – 191 in GATE Exam, academic Topper award at NIT, Tiruchirappalli for M.Tech, Academic Topper in B.E, best paper awards for various International Conferences. She has filed patents, published more than 10 papers in reputed International Journals and more than 15 International Conference presentations. Her areas of specialization are power electronics, renewable energy systems, electrical drives and power quality.

Dr. Janet is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications, NIT, Trichy for over 10 years. She has received honours that include University Rank, NET for Lectureship by UGC and deployed a honeypot sensor as part of National Cyber Coordination Centre Project for Cyber Threat Intelligence Generation. She has published 10 papers in International Journals and made 20 International Conference presentations. She has set up the first of its kind Information Processing and Security Laboratory with Industry involvement. She is a champion of open source technology. Her areas of specialization are Information Processing and Security, Internet of Things, Application Development and Deep Learning.
